Product Introduction

The CTS-1008 ultrasonic flaw detector is an updated product developed by combining advanced analog and digital circuit technology with 50 years of experience in ultrasonic instrument design and manufacturing from "Shantou Ultrasonic". The instrument has excellent performance, complete and practical functions, small size, and weighs only 1.4kg; It can achieve image-based ultrasonic testing and is equipped with multiple interfaces to meet users' various testing needs. The instrument can not only perform ultrasonic testing, but also serve as a square wave generator.

  • Advanced circuit design, sampling frequency up to 640MHz, and display resolution of 640x480 ensure fast and accurate display and analysis of defect echo signals, and timely response to changes and details of various weak signals. The real-time and authenticity of echo signals are effectively guaranteed.
  • The latest development adopts the leading adjustable square wave excitation technology in the domestic industry, and is equipped with a high-performance "square wave/pulse generator" with adjustable options to achieve the best matching with the probe (which can excite the non inductive coil probe to the best extent), as shown in Figure (1). Excellent penetration and signal-to-noise ratio for detecting high attenuation materials or thick workpieces; And it has high resolution for detecting thin workpieces and composite materials.

    When the square wave width is half the frequency period of the probe (5MHz, corresponding to about 100ns), the sensitivity is highest.
    When the width of the square wave is one cycle of the probe frequency (5MHz, corresponding to about 210ns), the resolution is highest at this time.
    Under the same voltage conditions, the sensitivity of square wave excitation can be improved by more than 12dB compared to negative pulse voltage excitation

  • The unique interface method allows the instrument to be used as an independent adjustable square wave generator, expanding the application space.
  • Rich interfaces with high-speed network interface (LAN) can provide remote data transmission and control, and multiple instruments can be connected to the network and used in parallel, greatly improving the functionality of the instruments. The high-speed main control USB interface can not only connect external storage devices such as USB flash drives and portable hard drives, allowing unrestricted waveform and data storage, but also external input devices such as USB mice for precise and efficient analysis of graphical waveforms.
  • Equipped with synchronous simulation and radio frequency (RF) waveform output interfaces, it can be used as a signal source for external data acquisition or probe testing.
  • Using a 5.7 "TFT (640x480) high-resolution color LCD display screen, the waveform details of the echo signal can be displayed finely, greatly improving the resolution, which is extremely beneficial for the analysis and judgment of defect properties.
  • Built in intelligent lithium battery charger. Automatic detection and display of batteries and DC power supply; Automatic switching between charging and power supply, dual protection of battery charging temperature, ensuring safety.
  • The humanized menu design, as shown in Figure (3), is the first in China to use a keyboard and universal knob for optional adjustment, making the operation more convenient and efficient, and the inspection process more relaxed and comfortable. Chinese and English menu selection, multiple text input methods, making it easy to complete reports and output reports.

    In this interface, the commonly used function keys for detection have been optimized.
    The "automatic gain" function allows users to adjust the echo amplitude inside the gate to the preset height at any time.
    The "waveform extension" function expands the waveform inside the gate to the full screen for viewing waveform details and improving resolution.
    The "peak" function saves users the trouble of frequently moving the gate and helps them intelligently search for defect information at any time.
    The "full screen parameters" function lists the current parameters of the instrument during the detection process, which can be browsed and set.

  • Built in multiple application software, covering different detection scenarios; Equipped with the "API 5UE Recommended Practice for Defect Size Quantification by the American Petroleum Organization" and "AWS D1.1 Welding Classification for Steel Structures" functional software, making inspection more convenient.
  • Automatically test probe frequency, intelligently optimize square wave width, and achieve optimal matching between probe, instrument, and tested workpiece.
  • Dynamic recording or short video playback, image-based thickness measurement, alarm, and continuous waveform storage functions, providing multiple waveform measurement modes, as shown in Figure (4).

    The thickness measurement mode can be divided into single probe and dual probe modes, with a measurement resolution of 0.1mm.
    The measurement results are stored in graphical format, with the ability to set alarm status and view, and can store up to 200 results.

  • When the alarm is triggered, the color of the waveform inside the gate changes, and the DAC curve alarm uses different color prompts, as shown in Figure (5).

  • The structure and appearance optimized by ergonomics have achieved a display screen of 5.7 inches, an internal battery, and an instrument weight of less than 1.4kg, which is unparalleled in domestic peers and extremely convenient to operate and carry.
